What Causes Low Water Pressure?Low water pressure is a common home plumbing issue that can affect faucets and sinks as well as showerheads, toilets, and any other plumbing fixtures. There are various possible causes of water pressure problems. We will talk about some of these below. Firstly you want to check the basics: Do you have multiple appliances like the dishwasher and washing machine running at the same time? Or you may be using multiple plumbing fixtures at once such as running a bath, washing the car, etc. High usage and create a high load on the system causing the overall pressure to lower. If this problem occurs occasionally and you can pin point it to high usage try, stopping a few of them and this may be enough to resolve the issue. Check your local water supply station isn’t doing any repairs or maintenance, this information can be found online. It’s also a good idea to check with your neighbour to see if they are also experiencing the same issue at their house. Once the above has been ruled out & you have confirmed there is no visual leak in the pipes, water pressure can be affected by valve faults, debris & buildup in the pipes, and other blockages which could be slowing down the water flow. Low water pressure can also become an issue due to corrosion inside the pipes. Give All Aussie Plumbing & Maintenance call so we can investigate further.

Why is my water bill so high?Have you received a water bill that seems unusually high? If your monthly expenses have recently increased, there may be an underlying issue that is driving up your property's water usage. The following is a list of some potential offenders: Leaky faucets, toilets, irrigation systems (such as those used for yard sprinklers), or lines (underground pipes that link your house to a water metre). Inefficient fixtures (take into account the age of your home's plumbing appliances; old fixtures might use more water in less efficient ways!)

5 Most Common Causes of a Blocked Drain1. Fats, Oils, & Grease The build-up of fat, oil, and grease is a main culprit for blockages. Fats and oils can build up in your drains and eventually cause a blockage. Even the trimmings from meat, cream, butter, and oils that you clean off your plate can contribute to a clogged sink. 2. Hair Hair can accumulate in your drain, creating a slow flow or totally blocking the drain. Washing pets can also be a major source of shedding hair and you need to be mindful of how you are discarding your pet hair. 3. Food You should avoid letting chunks of food go down the drain as this can also can cause blockages. If foods get stuck they can also cause a terrible smell/odour. 4. “Flushable” wipes They really shouldn’t be marketed as flushable as they can cause blockages & it is a common issue we come across. Toilet paper is specifically designed to break down in water, but moist wipes and paper towels aren't designed to break down in water and can stay in your pipes for a long time, which over time can cause a build up & result in a blockage. 5. Tree Roots Tree roots seeking water can find their way into your pipes and sewer mains, blocking your drains and causing an underground leak. If you live in an area or on a property with many trees with deep roots, it is recommended you have your pipes inspected if you've noticed any changes to your water pressure.
